Sight Fishing the Shallow Water Lagoons
Central Florida & Orlando's Best Fish Hunting Adventures
Thursday November 23, 2017
Unlike many fishing trips where you spend the day trolling or idling along and blindly casting or presenting your lures to gamefish, sightfishing mixes the art of hunting and fishing perfectly. On Florida's east coast there are hundreds of miles of shallow water lagoons teaming with preditor fish and waiting for the moment to pounce on their prey. Red drum are by far the most popular and sought out by anglers and they are perfectly suited for sightfishing. Whole industries have been built around sight-fishing for redfish with manufacturers building specialized skiffs that run shallow and quickly across the grass beds where redfish dwell.
Lagooner Fishing Guide, Captain Richard Bradley uses his 18 foot shallow draft boat or "Flats Boat" to pursue redfish in the lagoons around his native home east of Orlando in Cocoa Beach. An aft platform over the outboard creates a unique observation post for guides to gaze out and beyond the view of the anglers on the casting platform on the front of the vessel. Fishing Guides are often seen pushing or poling their clients across the vast beds of seagrass looking for an opportunity to make a cast at a gamefish.

Lagooner Fishing Guides Review / Facebook
Inshore and Offshore Charter Fishing near Orlando and Cocoa Beach, Florida. Catch redfish, sea trout, tarpon, snook and many other saltwater gamefish aboard the world famous Lagooner flats fishing boat with renowned Captain Richard Bradley.
Captain Richard worked hard to put fish in the boat. We were able to bring in a few big Reds and some trout, and a couple keepers to take home for dinner. It's always the hope to be able to catch lots of fish, but fishing is fishing and there are no guarantees; the time of the year we travel to Florida also has an impact on our fshing success. This last trip out with Captain Richard my wife came along and thorougly enjoyed the experience and catching the big Reds. She is looking forward to our next trip to Florida and another fishing trip with Captain Richard.
